Time

Post by Jayashree Ravi » Thu Mar 23, 2017 9:37 pm

Lifetime and clock,
Aren't they both like a flower?
Yes, both have capacity to "blossom"...
As the clock's hour hand swirls around twice
There blossoms a new day!
As the thorns that prick us all along
On our way through the jungle of life
There blossoms newer wisdom!

- JR

Note: I couldn't translate the poem from my language accurately. In my language, 'thorn' is the word that indicates both the needles of a clock as well as the thorns of a rose flower! Couldn't bring in this similarity in English.

Sister,

Although you were unable to completely translate your own language into English on this occasion, simply because there are no equivalent terms available in the English language to accurately communicate the true essence of what you are trying to say, I feel that you have done a more than adequate job and therefore should give yourself due credit for making the effort to paint these eloquent pictures in our mind's eye.

Loving regards,

Time is a measure of movement.
