music made in Heaven

Post by Vlinder » Wed May 23, 2007 8:36 pm

When I want to sooth my mind I listen to Mike Rowland's beautiful music. I'm sure he was inspired from above when writing his pieces, it's music made in Heaven as far as I'm concerned, it touches the very core of my being. The Magical Elfin Collection is one of my most treasured cds, I've copied it onto my computer just in case I wear it out, I play it that often.  :smt003

As the kingdom of heaven "is within"; musicians who develop themselves spiritually, express their music from this kingdom.
Music from Bob Marley, some songs like "I Believe I Can Fly" and others that strike a chord that transcends gender, race, age, religion; I think is

Lie down softly, eyes closed, forget your body and the room, let the music carry you . .

Górecki's 3rd Symphony.
The so-called Symphony of Sorrowful Songs.

Have you got a good sound system, and somewhere comfortable to sit or preferably lie down?
Then switch off the phone, put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the front door, switch off the light and take the advice I gave in the heading to this post.
Let me know your impressions, (especially the second movement).

Oftentimes, I will hear music in my dreams, and those become my compositions.  One of my best songs was written that way.  Would anybody like me to post it here?  I have it in MIDI format, and the first minute of it in MP3.

Sure, if you can or have you put it on YouTube or one of those websites?  Maybe you can do that if the other ways don't work.  Thanks!

Tweety, what kind of music are you looking for?  One way that I find great new music is by going to www.Pandora.com.  You can make up to 100 radio stations and it's free.  If you like a certain artist, they will play "like" artists for you.  You will be able to discover new artists and maybe even songs by your favorite artists that you didn't know that they did.  Check it out!

Philip Glass does awesome music! Well, might be depressing a bit though... but his music is so much deep... I especially like the music from The hours.

And most importantly, our playing is a gift to our children, providing them a way to add beauty to our world through music. We call it Music Made in Heaven.
