Music Director : Shankarsinh Raghuwanshi, Jaikishan Dayabhai Pankal

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki
Jaa ke na aaye jo din
Dil kyun bulaaye unhe
Dil kyun bulaaye

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki
Jaa ke na aaye jo din
Dil kyun bulaaye unhe
Dil kyun bulaaye

Din jo pakheroo hote
Pinjre mein main rakh leta

Din jo pakheroo hote
Pinjre mein main rakh leta
Paalta unko jatan se
Paalta unko jatan se
Moti ke daane deta
Seene se rehta lagaaye

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki
Jaa ke na aaye jo din
Dil kyun bulaaye unhe
Dil kyun bulaaye

Tasveer unki chhupa ke
Rakh doon jahan jee chaahe

Tasveer unki chhupa ke
Rakh doon jahan jee chaahe
Man mein basi ye moorat
Man mein basi ye moorat
Lekin mite na mitaaye
Kehne ko hain wo paraaye

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki
Jaa ke na aaye jo din
Dil kyun bulaaye unhe
Dil kyun bulaaye

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki

It is a sad song from the film ‘Dil Ek Mandir’ which was released in 1963 under the direction of C. V. Sridhar. Raj Kumar got the filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor in this film.

is really beautiful. At the same time Please do listen to the  song sung by Rafi Saheb, which has similarity to the song posted by Dhan ji.

I think nobody will   deny my opinion.  Just share your opinion over the two songs please. I love this song from my child hood days . Though it is  a sad song, it inspired me a lot, but I dont know.,  the exact  reason. May be I am fan of Rafi Saheb., so I liked it.  When I was 5 years old I saw this movie, along with my mom., in Tamil.   I saw my mother crying seeing the movie ,  I started crying without understanding what is wrong there in the  screen. Why do my mom cry ?   Whenever I listen this song , I used to recollect those days . Now I used to laugh thinking of my childhood innocence.

Yaad na jaaye beete dino ki................... I think ,  the opening line of the song has some meaning  for me ..................I could not forget my past days (Childhood memories)

Title: Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye Film Name: Jurm Music: Rajesh Roshan Lyrics: Indeevar Singers: Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam Category: Love Words:
--MALE--
(Jab koi baat bigad jaaye
When any matter gets ruined
Jab koi mushkil pad jaaye
When any difficulty arises
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz) - 2
You give me companionship, oh friend
Na koi hai, na koi tha
There is no one, there was no one
Zindagi mein tumhaare siva
In my life aside from you
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz - 2
You give me companionship, oh friend

(Ho chaandni jab tak raat deta hai har koi saath
As long as the night is moonlit, everyone gives company
Tum magar andheron mein na chhodna mera haath) - 2
But you don't let go of my hand in darkness
Jab koi baat bigad jaaye
When any matter gets ruined
Jab koi mushkil pad jaaye
When any difficulty arises
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz
You give me companionship, oh friend
Na koi hai, na koi tha
There is no one, there was no one
Zindagi mein tumhaare siva
In my life aside from you
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz
You give me companionship, oh friend

--FEMALE--
(Vafaadaari ki voh rasmein nibhaayenge hum tum kasmein
Those intentions of faithfullness, we will obey vows
Ek bhi saans zindagi ki jab tak ho apne bas mein) - 2
As long as even one breath of life is within our control
Jab koi baat bigad jaaye
When any matter gets ruined
Jab koi mushkil pad jaaye
When any difficulty arises
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz
You give me companionship, oh friend

--MALE--
Na koi hai, na koi tha
There is no one, there was no one
Zindagi mein tumhaare siva
In my life aside from you
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz
You give me companionship, oh friend

Dil ko mere hua yakeen hum pehle bhi mile kahin
My heart now believes we had met sometime before also
Silsila yeh sadiyon ka koi aaj ki baat nahin
This is a link of centuries, it's not a matter of today

--FEMALE--
Dil ko mere hua yakeen hum pehle bhi mile kahin
My heart now believes we had met sometime before also
Silsila yeh sadiyon ka koi aaj ki baat nahin
This is a link of centuries, it's not a matter of today

--BOTH--
(Jab koi baat bigad jaaye
When any matter gets ruined
Jab koi mushkil pad jaaye
When any difficulty arises
Tum dena saath mera o hamnavaaz) - 2
You give me companionship, oh friend
Na koi hai, na koi tha

Goverdhanji,

The way you translated the Hindi song to English reminds me of this song:

Jadugar Saiyan, Chhod more Baiyan,

Hogayi Aadhi Raat, Ab Ghar Jaane Do,

Oh magician, leave my hands,

It is about mid night, let me go home

I do not remember the full song but a friend of mine had translated it and it sounded hillarious.

I once downloaded some Hindi music from iTunes for relaxation... it was by Deva Premal called "Moola Mantra" was the album... I loved it but then again I don't listen to most Hindi music so it might even be "main stream Hindi music for Americans", or can you give me feedback on that?

These are both on YouTube:
Deva Premal, Moola Mantra Part 1
Deva Premal, Moola Mantra Part 2

On the album with iTunes there are actually 5 parts... Invocation, I, II, III, and Incantation. I really liked the music but I don't usually listen to that type of selection so I'm probably not the best judge *shrug*

What do you think of those? OH, do you speak the words actually? I'd love to know what it says.

Cello Music

Post by Kimmee » Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:25 pm

There is an awesome band I know for cello music called Vitamin String Quartet :smt007 They take modern songs, everything from pop, rock, indie, and slightly older blues, classic rock, techno-y hip hop, etc. music and play it as a cover song entirely on string instruments (with no vocals at all). They have I think about 200 albums on their iTunes store, you are likely to find if not an album on an artist you've liked now or in the past, at least dozens on artist's you've known that sound beautiful on cello/violin :smt002

Vitamin String Quartet's YouTube Channel!

Look them up on iTunes and download an album! My personal favorite album by them... hmm... There are SO many albums on their iTunes site that it's intimidating! I know I get overwhelmed when I look through too many albums on their site, and I hate recommending exact albums by them because they have sooo many but here I go... Don't just buy these cause I said them (look for an artist you've known by typing them into a search box first and always preview! It's a lot of fun finding a string cover album on a favorite band!)

I enjoy both of their Emo Anti-Valentines Day Collections, all of their Wedding Collections (especially the 'Modern Wedding Collection') and I like their 'Vitamin String Quartet Preforms Muse' as a more recent addition to their music repertory but most of all I recommend typing in an artist's name that you know such as "so-and-so's-singers-name-that-I-like" and looking if they have anything by them on the iTunes search for their iTunes store. They have a couple hundred records I think? It's huge, so look for something you know and preview it before you download cause there is tons! (if you like it... cause it is awesome modern cello!) :smt003

Close your eyes and meditate on the name Lord Ram as you simultaneously hear the song and experience the taste of nectar

One who hears this bhajan , gets fear eradicated in their mind and make them peaceful
