Butter doesn't really help at all, the gums are actually saturated with saliva already so adding another element isnt needed to soften anything but can cause colic if the baby is reacting to the lactose or oil in the butter.

Let us know how you get on at the doctor please :)

Took Holly to the doctors and she has to see a specialist. Her muscles in her throat haven't developed properly according to the doctor. xxx

why a child crys like this ..

well how often do you change - this young I suggest every hour ..unless soil or wet then sooner

Is she getting enough food? Are you breast feeding her? ... if your breast feeding you may try to supplement your feedings with formula ... as well as watch what  you eat.  she may have a tummy ache.

Sometimes children at this age are feeling the loss of the womb ... for lack of words right now ..

Do you swaddle her?  ..if not try this in a tight swaddle and see if that helps

Lotion rubs while talking in a soothing voice may help as well.

is she pulling her legs up ..she may have a tummy ache - constipated - see your dr .. if just a tummy ache try burping her again.. or placing a warm wash cloth on the stomach to sooth it.

Have you checked her temperature? teething can easily be mistaken for an ear infection, and teething wouldn't normaly affect drinking either. With a young child you really need to take her to a doctor to check this out as soon as possible.  There must be one open somewhere or an ER surely?
