Health Benefits of Mango :

  1. Mangoes contain phenols, this phenolic compound have powerful antioxidant and anticancer abilities.
  2. Mango is high in iron, pregnant women and people with anemia are advised to eat this fruit regularly.
  3. Mango is effective in relieving clogged pores of the skin.
  4. It is also valuable to combat acidity and poor digestion.
  5. Mango is high in antioxidant and low in carbohydrates.
  6. Mango is a rich source of vitamin A(beta-carotene), E and Selenium which help to protect against heart disease and other ailments.


Other cases where Mango is beneficial ;

   * Kidney problems including nephritis.
   * Fever
   * Respiratory problems
   * Constipation

Nutritive Values : Per 100 gm.

   * Vitamin A : 6,350 I.U.
   * Vitamin B : Thiamine .06 mg.;
   * Vitamin C : 41 mg.
   * Calcium : 9 mg.

mm Mango's. Here the mango season has just started. I love them, i would have to say they are one of my three favourite fruits. the other two being Watermelon and Strawberries. Thanks for the info, as many mango's as I've eaten i didn't know that ^_^

    try mangoes once .U will really love them .It is very very tasty sweet fruit. It is available in US. I bought it there. I have 5 mango trees in my Chennai house.in India.

     Thanks for sharing your taste regarding my favorite fruit Mangoes. It is really a lovely fruit. Many are telling they dont know what is mango ? I think once they taste it  they cant forget  it, rite?

Very very true, you never forget the taste of a mango! I grew up with a giant mango tree i could climb and eat whenever i wanted. They are an amazing tasting fruit:) And if you know how to make Home made ice cream, Fresh mango in it makes it really a fantastic tasting experience:)
