After posting so much on runes and Norse yesterday, had to open up Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda.  Because I can't open up the Poetic Edda all the time ;)  Note: These are seminal books on Norse legend.
The fool who fancies he is full of wisdom while he sits by his hearth at home.
Quickly finds when questioned by others that he knows nothing at all.
- The Havamal, verse 26

I have just finished Jawaharlal Nehru's Discovery of India. I think it is one of the best narrations of the 5000 years of Indian History without exaggeration. It takes us into those times, reliving the past enabling us to be a neutral spectator to the happenings. One must read it, whether you agree or not with Jawaharlal Nehru.

I have read too many books to acknowledge, each one I loved. At the moment I am reading 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' for the fifth time... I can't get enough of it. I would highly recommend the whole 'Harry Potter' series to anyone and everyone.

Almost through reading Julia Heywood's "The Barefoot Indian". It's fiction but with good life-philosophy and written with lots of humour, a small book and so easy to read. On her website you can read how she was inspired to write this book.

Encyclopedia of Herbs by Scott Cunningham. He is such a great writer. I recommend any of his books.
Blessed be.

A fascinating read

I'm reading a book called Genesis.
It's very interesting if you want to know about the early days.
It's the first book of the Torah for Jewish people and of the Old Testament for Christians; also the Mohammedans refer to this book.
It tells of all the strange creatures which populated the Earth in those days; Men, Giants, Nephilim, Sons of God, and also Mighty Men of Renown who were the offspring of the Sons of God and the Daughters of Men, and who were the heroes of old.
It also gives rise to interesting questions such as, where did Cain get his wife from?
You see, apparently there are no people at all until God created Adam and Eve, who subsequently had two sons, Cain and Abel. (That makes four people in total). Cain kills Abel, (now there's only 3), and then goes off and gets married.
There are lots of other interesting questions too, but thats enough for now.
