:) I have to agree with that :) "mind techniques" that go all the way from the simple to the not so simple. The not so simple ones have absolutely nothing to do with "finding inner peace" though :) they are for folks that want to carry some Chi (qi) :) .

Ahhhh now this gives me hope!

For years I have believed I need to totaly shut up my mind and what a struggle that is! everytime thoughts came into my head I felt unsuccesful, with two young children this was very hard!

To just be in my own space in my mind, somewhere beautiful and happy.

I shall give it whirl again!

                 Meditation means not only sitting in one place and concentrating,
one can do different type of meditation like,reading,singing and listening music you can try and find the result. :smt018

yes, many forms of meditation, and each with its own purpose.  Any time you are doing a mundane chore and the mind wanders to another peaceful place is a meditative state.  Walking, running, exercising - that is no doubt what all those endorphines are about.

But to learn perhaps a quiet siting meditation would work to find the focus that is needed.
