Your bond with contemporary human incarnation must be the top most

The bond with irrelevant energetic incarnations & past human incarnations become meaningless

All the souls are servants of God and God is always the Master of souls (Aatmeshwaram… Veda). Since the relevant God is the contemporary human incarnation, the bond with the contemporary human incarnation must be the top most. Hanuman and Gopikas maintained top most bonds with their contemporary human incarnations viz. Rama and Krishna only. The top most bond with irrelevant energetic incarnations and past human incarnations become meaningless.

The photos and statues represent these energetic incarnations and past human incarnations and therefore, the bonds with such photos and statues are not only meaningless but also foolish. Of course, if the human being has not reached the stage of maturity to have bond with contemporary human form of God, the bond with photos, statues, energetic forms and past human forms should be respected, which serves the purpose of development of theoretical devotion to God. Such theoretical devotion on ripening becomes practical devotion to the contemporary human incarnation. You should always remember that the practical devotion to the contemporary human incarnation alone gives the divine fruit, which is clearly seen in Hanuman and Gopikas.

It certainly appears to be a quote from a book but has little significance til you can translate and post according to your own understanding.

"translation"

(With the utmost respect ... please change or delete if you feel I have misunderstood )

To put it simply; We are all servants of god and the contemporary incarnation of god is the most relevant and the most important and the one we should work with. If you accept and work on yourself and with a master in this incarnation past lives and past masters become irrelevant

Devotion to (praying to and worshipping) statues of past masters is foolish and meaningless then as they are no longer incarnate. Of course, if the person hasn't reached a place on their path where they can accept a human incarnation of god then the bond with a past master through statues photos and the such should be respected. Its useful to worship statues and the such to develop humility and devotion which in time will lead to worship of a living deity. It is only this devotion to a living incarnation of god that brings divine "fruit" and only this ...clearly seen in Hanuman and gopikas
a problem cannot be solved with the same consciousness that created it (Einstein)

An old posting, which has now been reborn

Post by eye_of_tiger » Sat Feb 02, 2013 11:59 pm

It appears to be saying that when considering your life challenges and finding the source of any difficulties, you should always fully explore your current lifetime before looking into past lives. Giving your current incarnation top priority?

I completely agree with this, but to say that any past life is totally irrelevant or meaningless ignores the fact that lessons often span several life times, and are therefore ongoing through all of them.

In other words when we enter our current incarnation, we do not come into this world as a completely blank or empty book. Our soul stories have already been partially written? What follows is the next chapter of an often long series.

BTW it did not escape my attention that this is an old posting over two years old, but I think that the message still needed to be made clearer for those members who had read it and understandably wondered if it was only posted in order to impress us with its wisdom, or because dattaswami did not feel that he had anything better to say which was his own creation. His final posting using that screen name of a total of 20, was made the next day after this one.

God speed!
