Yeah, he was into mushroom BUT he also developed a software program based on the I Ching using what he called the Novelty Theory that there are high and low points when significant events are likely to occur in time.
You can still get this program google Wavetime Zero.
Anyway when he did the calculations and interesting thing occur in the year 2012 the whole thing bottoms out around Dec. He didn't learn till after he did this thats the month the Mayan calendar ends as well. When wavetime goes to 0.
So no one else heard about this.

Oh Man don't be asking me that. I have read through some of it sounds more like hocus pocus, BUT some mathematicians have taken a interest in the program and even help correct some of the errors. :smt120

Well, I didn't mean work like that. I hate math, so any mention of number will make me explode.
What I meant was what does it match up to? What made them decide: 'Oh, well, this is obviously the spot to put in Ko and this time period will be marked by...' That's more what I was going for. Don't tell me how it works, tell me what makes them think it works with the I Ching.

What McKenna did was take the 64 hexagrams and weaved them into a fractal formula ( the fractals are patterns that when you zoom into it turns into another pattern this zooming goes on endlessly) Then with this formula he marked events in history rise of Rome, WWII etc saying these are novelty points in the I Ching formula he created.
And as far as rozrokz point about UFO sighting (which I do not understand the relevance here) goes back to an earlier question, How come Jesus has never appeared East and Buddha never appears in the West? You would think that would cliche the whole issue. :smt017

You have to remember that this Novelty Theory arbitrarily used that date, so in Math speak..that translate to hoowee. lolSei no Senshi wrote:Interesting.
So, both this Novelty Theory and the Mayan Calendar start over in December of 2012. Do you think the I Ching has something to do with Venus cycles then?
