Unbalanced root chakra and psychism?

I have an unblanced (very, so I was recently told) root chakra and I was wondering if this effects my want or need to grow both spiritually and psychically. I have trouble meditating-which I know is something important to development. Also, I would love to get in contact with my spirit guide, but feel I am unable to because of this.

Any advice on this subject would be wonderful. Thanks and blessed be!

I had unbalanced chakras...I was told to breathe deeply 4 or five times concentrating on each breath and they were brought into alignement
