I would have missed it had it not been for my kids.
I dont like tourists destinations at all, I anti advertising hype and all the bells and Whistles of "recommended "locations.
About 10 years ago my husband and I with the two kids traveled outback and nowhere Australia. We spent 9 months with destination unknown, just a jeep and a 1 pole tent.
We were quite near Uluru better known as Ayres rock at one time. I was not at all keen on see it. It just has no appeal to me.. just another "tourist trap" IMO.
We did go and see it so that my children could have a destination to talk about thats easy share. Were here, we should take the kids I suppose..
wow wow wow.. If I knew then what I know now I would have better prepared myself for a deeply spiritual experience.
Ok so its a rock, a big rock, and a tourist destination, but no advertisement can share the spirit that is there,
I was standing there among other people, feeling beautiful as if I was the only person around forever. I physical felt the power in all its raw beauty. I spoke but my voice was no more than the breath of spirits that were resting with the land here. The power of the land that I stood was amazing.
I guess not everyone will feel like I did.. I know my husband did also.. its not often we share a spiritual experience ..
If your in the area do drop in and have a look, if you dont feel it at least you can say you went.. but if you do, you;ll remember that feeling.
You come away with a special "knowing", thats worth it..
hey it was worth having children if only thats the reason we went
