Well, it depends on which place. I currently call two places 'home'. One is Davao City, Philippines, which is where I grew up. The other is Marikina City, also in the Philippines, where I've been living for the past two years while in university. Davao is the largest city in the country, in terms of land area, and is quite well known for its agriculture. It's also among the safest places to grow up in. Marikina isn't that different; it's one of the cleanest cities in the National Capital Region (much like Davao).
When it comes to places to visit, there are a lot one can see in Davao. There's Crocodile Farm, a conservation and breeding program for the Philippine saltwater crocodile, in addition to housing a small zoo of protected and indigenous fauna species in the Philippines; Philippine Eagle Center, which has several conservation and breeding programs for this endangered raptor; Malagos Garden and Malagos Bird Farm, an educational venture and a conservation venture as well; and various mountain and beach resorts (there are too many to name).
As for the entire country, there are a lot of tourist attractions, although... I believe at least one of them has all but disappeared. The Cagsawa Ruins near Mayon Volcano, famous because they remained standing for centuries, now consists of only the iconic bell tower depicted in postcards; before, that wasn't the only building left standing. Mayon Volcano itself is no longer the perfect cone it was touted as. I could go on listing, since my family and I have been to a lot of these tourist attractions, but I'm starting to sound like an online tour guide.
