Post by Krishnakumar M R » Sat May 14, 2011 2:35 pm

I have noticed the below mentioned at the end of the home page:

In total there are 44 users online :: 2 Registered, 1 Hidden and 41 Guests   [ Administrator ]   [ Moderator ]
Most users ever online was 345 on Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:46 pm

would be grateful if you could explain the definition of registered user.

Thanks

Krish

Registered user are those who have taken the task to register for Forum access, with their own chosen names.
They will have the benefit to surf the forum with less adds, interact with other people...ask for readings and so on.

Visitors on the other hand is "people" who comes to this site on their surf. It act just like a count of a connection..because the server will see the IP address...just like a telephone..they can't interact with others here on the site...and they will see much more adds when reading the forum.

We are all counted as visitors when we arrive each day....when we then log into the Forum...we go from visitor to reg user...and some of us chose to stay hidden.(the name will not be displayed...but counted...(this is a service you might find in your control panel)...hope that explain it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

I am interested to know that when I post that message, I was a member but my name is not listed in registered.

Could you please focus some light on why it is so ?

Thanks

Krish

If you are able to post, but don't see your name as on line...then you have marked for "hide your on line status"

Go to your CP (up top on the page)

When CP is open...look at third paragraph (the one below signatures)

Look at line 2 and choose NO when asked for "Hide your on-line status"

As long as you are able to post....both your name, and your count will be recorded, regardless of what status you have chosen.

Oh, yes, you can also overcome that by refreshing the page.
I am a regular member-visitor to the site and sometimes I dont see my name either. But refreshing the page makes all visible to the world. LOL...:)
