I have heard that when one is reading something too seriously or completely absorbed into something the person gains the state of hypnosis. Is it true...
What extent is it true
How does Hypnosis help

Hypnosis comes in a deep subconscious state of concentration, it hardly depends on seriousness but yes, if are fully absorbed in some work it may lead you to hypnosis and can generate positive energy in you.
However if you read Sidney Sheldon or Harold Robbins with full concentration i don't think you will ever grab the meaning of hypnosis.

my opinion or half a wooden nickel
It is relaxing and helps gain focus to obtain something. The type of hypnosis you are doing is audible and I suggest downtempo or "chillout" techno instead of listening to tones like someone is testing your hearing to determine if you are deaf.
