Something about Bloodstone

Post by Saturnic » Mon Jan 21, 2008 5:22 pm

Hey all,

I bought these two stones as Bloodstone. Now, I'm not very sure that they are Bloodstone or not. Could you please help me recognize them? I'm posting the picture of the two stones I bought. Are they Bloodstones? Please help.... Thanks in advance!

Hi, Personally I don't think that either stone looks like or feels like bloodstone. Bloodstone is a green jasper with red iron oxide patches. The first one looks more like plain Red Jasper and the second like an indeterminate agate/jasper.

Bloodstone looks more like these, but then it is possible that your pictures are misleading.

Yeah, Gem, even I had my doubts, but now I'm 100% sure that these are not Bloodstone. I'll have them exchanged.

By the way, what diseases does Bloodstone heal?

Thanks Gem for the response! :)

Healing properties of Bloodstone
Bloodstone is used to aid in circulation of all energy in the body and helps to remove energy blocks.

blood cleanser
stimulates immune system to fight infections
detoxifies
ancient egyptians used bloodstone to treat tumours
for use in root chakra

This was just some info I found on the web. Hope it helps.

I've also read bloodstone used for heart ailments, strengthening the heart.

I'm sure the 2nd picture is a bloodstone
blood stones can be red, green, yellow, orange and mixed.
if you look into the stone, you'll notice they appear like paint poured in a rock.
