WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
TO ALL MEMBERS
I would like to be the first to welcome you (back) to our community.
Neither the FAQ nor Help site are not working yet, so if after looking around at the new interface and features you have a question or questions, please feel free to send me a private message.
Or alternatively, post them under this thread.
I will do my best to answer them in the shortest possible time.
Also if you notice forums mysteriously moving to another place or new sub forums appearing as if by magic, it is not your imagination or your eyes which are playing tricks on you.
There is still a lot of work to be done before Mystic Board 2.0 is complete, so hold onto your hats and enjoy the ride in the meantime.
It is wonderful to be back with you all.
I will write to you again soon with any updates, as soon as I know about them myself.
Onward and Upwards,
Brian

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Talia,
Either plenty of angel or fairy dust is OK with me.
There was really no need for you to worry about me, but I appreciate it so thank you.
Back to work,

I found the 'New Posts' link but its well hidden would be good to get it as a tab on the main page perhaps?
Click on the drop down 'Quicklinks' top left then choose 'New Posts'

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Talia,
Drop down menus are the new way of performing these functions with the greatly updated version of the forum software.
This approach is consistent throughout the entire user interface, including the moderator and administrator controls which obviously you cannot see.
It gives a less cluttered appearance, but we all do need to learn to adapt to a completely different way of carrying out everyday functions.
This will all eventually have to be included in the help files.
If some feature from the older version is no longer where you would expect it to be, then look for those drop down menus.
Save some valuable time and unnecessary stress for yourself, by exploring the drop down menus BEFORE you actually need to use them.
You can also work out many of the functions represented by those symbols when you post, by hovering your mouse cursor over them.
They have a built in help function (much like MS Windows itself does)
Thanking you so much for your suggestions and support.
There is clearly still a lot of work to be done, in order to get MB fully up and running.
Back to the grindstone,
Brian

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Unfortunately angel and fairy dust alone will not be enough by themselves to turn things around in the right direction again on MB.
Neither will an updated user interface.
Although you must admit that it is a big improvement on what we had before.
I have clearly identified and communicated on several occasions what I believe needs to happen and be done (several factors all have to come together at exactly the right time, in just the right balance), in order to give Mystic Board the maximum possible chance of not only surviving, but growing again into the future.
But there is only so much that I can realistically and practically do in this regard, mainly because I do not own this website or pay the monthly hosting fees (And I have no ambition to do either).
So in the end, these are not my decisions to make.
Your friendship, loyalty and support help to keep me going and trying.
L&L,
Brian

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Hurray!!!
MB board looks very cool....!
I'm quite busy doing a Computer Science course that I did not visit this page often. Then I noticed it was down for sometime. 2 days ago I checked and saw it had moved to this page and today, spotted this thread.
Looks very nice. I will continue posting here as ever!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Sister,
Welcoming you back to MB, and wishing you all the very best of success with your computer science course.
MB now has a shiny new user interlace, but we badly and urgently need some new content, in order to take full advantage of it.
Hint: Another one of your beautiful pieces of poetry would be most welcome at this stage of the proceedings.
Regards,
From Brian

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
This new forum software does not like standard emojis whereby one usually puts or.... <<< if that did not materialise.>> Semi-colon and bracket sign. It looks like we will have to select the in-house emojis,
Is this being experienced by all?
All existing messages with standard emojis have come out gibberish....
I can't say I am too impressed with the new software. It is cumbersome to navigate through and it gives no indication of what is a new posting and what is not.
May be I have not looked at it properly yet...
And.... what are those flickering sings next to a forum room?

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
I am wondering if notification updates are going to others?! As I am not getting them.
Also there is no way to check the posters date of birth.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Dear Rishi,
You are right, it seems DOB is now private as are horoscope signs etc but age does show but that seems to be what the person adds in.
I seem to have lost my 'reader' title as there is a blank where 'Angel and Tarot Reader ' used to be, and yes Cedars the seem to have lost only some of the emoji shortcuts ;) 8) hmmmmm and an insecure warning again with Mozilla
Oh dear we need more than poems and angel dust!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NEW MYSTIC BOARD
Dont tell me about the insecure warning from Mozilla after their latest update. I strongly complained to them as it happens everytime I go to my homepage.lTalia wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2017 5:24 pmI seem to have lost my 'reader' title as there is a blank where 'Angel and Tarot Reader ' used to be, and yes Cedars the seem to have lost only some of the emoji shortcuts ;) 8) hmmmmm and an insecure warning again with Mozilla

This site needs some work to do...
I wonder what was wrong with the other site/software. It was great to navigate through.
I am STILL NOT getting notification emails to my posts or things that I am following........
